Ohh, I'm first!!! Hello from Scooby!!

Hello Everyone!!

My name is Scooby & I am a 4 month old puppy at Wiccaweys.  I arrived about 12 days ago from Ireland.

I've had a very tough time, but some lovely people in Ireland saved my bacon and arranged for me to come over to stay with Mummy Sarah & Daddy Paul.   I nearly didn't get to leave Ireland though, as I was a very angry, scared and confused little boy.  People had been soooooooooooo nasty to me that I didn't trust anyone at all.   I had very sharp puppy teeth and claws and I knew how to use them to protect myself.   I wouldn't let anyone near me and made it very hard for them to help me.  I just wanted to hurt people before they hurt me.

When I arrived at Wiccs I was very upset and angry.  I told Mummy Sarah that I hated her and I was going to kill her!!  Mummy Sarah didn't believe me and said I was just scared.  I told her that I hated her for about 48 hours.   Mummy Sarah didn't care.  She just sat with me and looked stupid playing games by herself.   Other people called Dog Walkers popped their heads in to see me and I told them they stunk too!   Mummy Sarah gave me some special treats that made me feel a bit calmer and then I let her stroke me, sort of!!  Grrrrrrrrr.    Daddy Paul & Mummy Sarah just laughed at me and told me I was a very handsome little boy and that I would be fine.   Yes - that's what they all say and then they hurt me!!!    Humph!!!

Mummy Sarah had some sausages and while I wasn't looking she snuck a lead on me!!!   Then without saying anything, she just walked out.   I was attached to her, so I had to go too!   Mummy Sarah just ignored me being silly and kept walking.  Jack & Merlin doggies came over to see me and I tried to kill them!!   I hated them!!  They laughed at me, and Jack threw a ball at me and said chase that instead, its more fun.   Merlin told me to stop being silly.

It was Saturday and people were visiting and walking the other dogs.  I hated everyone!   Mummy Sarah was in a thing called a caravan doing phonecalls.  She said that I would be in the caravan with her, and I could help her.   Yeah, right!    I might bite you!!!     In the caravan was a kettle thing for coffee, and a tin with biscuits and cake.   Mummy Sarah had some, and she gave me some.  I sat on the sofa opposite her and just watched.   Mummy Sarah didn't really do anything with me, she just did her calls and let me sit in with her.   I was a bit confused because I wasn't really being focused on.   I thought I might check her out a bit more, and when I moved closer, Mummy Sarah just moved her arm and let me sit next to her.  She didn't touch me.  I was expecting her to give me a smack, but she didn't touch me at all.   So I put my paw on her knee, and then I put my head on her knee.   She still didn't touch me and carried on talking on the phone thing.  Then she stood up and made a drink.  I didn't think about it, I stood up too and followed her.  When she had her drink, she sat down again, so I sat with her again and we carried on as before.

After a while, Mummy Sarah just stoked my head.  I jumped, but I decided not to try and eat her this time.   I just watched to see what happened next.  Nothing, Mummy Sarah moved her hand and made another call.   Hmmmm, ok.   When she finished she picked up the end of my lead and asked if I wanted to go for a walk with her.  We went for a little trot and I met some other dogs and people.  Mummy Sarah told them to just ignore me for now.  When we got back, she put me on a long line next to the caravan and went inside without me.   I don't think so!!!   Don't leave me out here - I quite like helping you with the calls!   I followed her in.   When she came out, I followed her.   I was very tired at the end of the day and instead of being scared, I was very pleased to see my bed.  It had been a very tiring day learning everything new.

The next day was Sunday and people were back again visiting.  Some of the walkers from the day before came again, and they had tears in their eyes when they saw me on Sunday.  I had woke up, and as soon as I saw Mummy Sarah I decided I was going to be brave and try not to kill anyone.

That was the real first day of my new life.  I've been learning how to be a puppy and not an angry, dangerous gremlin!!!   Jack & Merlin have been helping me, and I'm starting to trust the other people too.

Last Thursday I went to the vets for a check-up and some needles!   I was very brave and travelled really well in the car, settling in my special crate and then I met Uncle Chris the vet.  I was excellent and didn't try to eat him once!   And I had a very big needle that means I bleep if I get lost.   I was very, very brave and Mummy Sarah was so proud of me.

This weekend I've been out and about while people have visited, and I shouted at Uncle Raymond when he wore a silly hat!   TeeeHeeeee!!!   I always know where Mummy Sarah is, and if I can't see her, I shout until she shows me where she is and says stop being silly.  Then I'm ok again.    I'm a very good jumper and I thought she'd gone in the caravan, and Uncle Raymond saw me clear the half door to jump in and find her!!
She wasn't there, so I stood on my back legs looking out over the door pretending I didn't know how I'd got in there!!   TeeeHeeee!!

Yesterday was another big day for me.  I went with Jack, Merlin, Daddy Paul and Mummy Sarah on a sponsored walk!!!   It was great fun!   I was in fancy dress and I went as Scooby the Spider Dog.  I've put some pictures below.   I do love Mummy Sarah, so I practised being with someone else for when I get a new home, and I walked with Auntie Grace from the vets.  I kept looking for Mummy Sarah, but I did it!  I even said hello to a little human.   I was ever so good with all the people and all the doggies and I won some prizes on the raffle!!!   YAY!!!!

So, I am Scooby, and I am now a happy puppy.
I like it here and one day soon, I hope that I will have a new family to love me as much as Mummy Sarah and Daddy Paul love me.

I hope you like the photos of me as a Super Scarey Spider!!!  WHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Love
